 Today in American lit we read the short story The Rockpile by James Baldwin. It’s about two half brothers Roy and John that live with their mom and dad and two younger siblings across from the Rockpile. The Rockpile is forbidden from in their home because of all the crime and violence that takes place. But one day Roy managed to sneak out to go to the Rockpile while John covers for him. When at the Rockpile Roy gets hit in the head and gets a gash in his head. John runs to get his mom to inform her while they worry about the father finding out.
