In American lit. we analyze and annotated a poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti called “Constantly Risking Absurdity”. The author uses an extended metaphor throughout the poem comparing a poet to an acrobat. And extended metaphor is the use of a single metaphor or analogy at length in a work of literature. In the end the theme we came up with was ‘Being creative is not as easy as it seems to be.’
