In American lit we started a common assessment. We only answered the first 12 questions and will finish the rest Friday.
Fences collage
My ethnicity is African American. My father is African American but my mom is African American with a little bit of German. Although her grandparent is German she doesn’t really claim it. African American culture is composed of self expression, unity and love. We use self expression in our hairstyles such as cornrows, Afros and many other hairstyles. Our clothing and style also let us embrace who we really are. Things such as really long nails, excessive jewelry and baggy clothes make us stand out. We show our love and gratitude through cooking. Soul food is the go to for African American culture. Greens, cornbread, fried chicken, hush puppies and much more lets you taste our love. And don’t forget dessert, banana pudding and peach cobbler are our go to for setting everything off.

In American lit we continued to read the book fences. Before we continued reading we took notes about connotation and denotation. After we took notes we read in small groups again. We read until the end of class and Mr. Rease assigned a homework collage assignment.

Today in American lit we read scene 2 of the book fences. Before we started reading we answered questions about scene one. Then we read in small groups of 3-4 people. After we finished reading we answered questions about scene two.
